FIRST- A bit of advice.
Begin by playing on the 5 cent tables. You will be able to relax and accustomise yourself to the tables this way. You can place from as little as 5 dollars/euros into your account, which will go a very long way in 5cent games

When the cards are dealt for each player, relax and study your 1st 2 cards. - Remember, you must be patient.
1. If you have a pair below 10s, Just check .
If two or more of your opponents raise, then FOLD and wait for the next hand. REMEMBER, PATIENCE WINS.
Q+6,or K+4,or J+3,or 9+2, or any cards that are too far apart from each other are 9 times out of 10, No Good - FOLD.
If your first two cards are close and SUITED, (Example-10 of Hearts + Jack of Hearts) then play on. you have a two way chance of filling a Straight or a Flush.
2. On the FLOP, (the first three cards dealt by the dealer), ...
If you make a top PAIR with -one of your cards, and the highest card in the flop,- Raise only if your second card is high. otherwise Check. HOPE WILL KILL YOU.
NEVER EVER play on- if after the FLOP, you do not already have the makings of a good hand....do not HOPE to get a card..
example- you have King,Jack,10,and 9. and you are looking for a QUEEN. You will lose 9 times out of 10. Be Patient.
3. On the TURN. (The fourth card dealt by the dealer). You should have a good idea of the strength of your opponents hands, by the way they are betting. Only Raise if you have strengthened your own hand. Otherwise CHECK.
4. On the RIVER. (The last card dealt by the dealer). Do not get caught up in a race with your opponent to raise.. Slow it down and make Him/Her wait, this will make them worry.
If you again have strengthened your hand, you are in a very strong position to win.
NEVER EVER heavily raise in a game, unless you have that unbeatable hand.
Be happy to win a nice amount, and move on to the next hand,
if you're unlucky to lose - you lose a small amount.
DO NOT TRY TO MAKE A FORTUNE AT FIRST. Enjoy the game, and pick up some money when you get that GOOD HAND.
Keep your eyes on the table...and you will be surprised how easily you can read the strong players from the weak players.
Play strong against the weak players, and don't try to bluff the strong players. And change tables from time to time.
